What Is A Credit Union?
District 8 Highway Employees Credit Union is a not-for-profit financial cooperative owned, controlled and operated for the benefit of it's members. Since there are no outside stockholders to satisfy, the credit union can return a greater percentage of its income to you the member owner, in the form of higher dividend rates on deposits and lower interest rates on loans.

District 8 Highway Employees Credit Union was chartered in 1955 to serve all permanent employees and retirees of District 8 Missouri Department of Transportation, Missouri State Highway Patrol Troop D & I, their spouses, children (natural, adopted or stepchildren) and grandchildren.
How Can I Join?
To become a member of the District 8 Highway Employees Credit Union, all you need to do is to complete an account card along with a copy of your drivers license, (copy of social security card for children) and deposit $20.25 into your share account. This inital deposit establishes your membership/ownership in the credit union.

Once A Member, Always A Member
Once you are a member of the credit union, you remain a member for life no matter if you move, change jobs or retire. All that is needed ito remain a member is a $20.00 balance in your share account.
Financial Security
Every dollar you invest in District 8 Highway Employees Credit Union is fully insured, up to $100,000 by the National Credit Union Association (NCUA) an agency of the federal government. You can rest assured that there is no safer place for your hard-earned funds than a federally insured credit union.
